How Long Does the Battery Life Last in a Budget Laptop?

If you’re buying a budget computer, you might be concerned that the battery is used up or damaged so much that it won’t last you throughout the day. Thankfully, many budget PCs have an average battery life of 4-5 hours if you’re web browsing, sending emails, or performing simple tasks.

Do Budget Laptops Have an Intel Core?

Our top-of-the-line computers all come with Intel Core i5 or i7 processors. The Intel Core i5 is a great chip for light productivity activities. Most budget computers will come with an Intel Core, although some might come with the older Pentium processors.

Will the Budget Computer Have Intel UHD Graphics?

One of the primary benefits of purchasing a budget desktop over a new laptop is that you can upgrade most of its components later, adding more storage, a video card, a solid state drive, more memory, or an SD card slot. A good starting point is shopping for affordable laptops with replaceable batteries, graphic cards, and upgradeable memory.

Here are some of the best budget PC options you can currently find in our stores:

Lenovo IdeaPad Flex

The Lenovo IdeaPad is an affordable laptop model for everyday tasks. It has a touchscreen, a Core 13-1115G4 (up to 4.1 GH memory speed), 4 GB Ram, an SD Card Reader, USB-C ports, HDMI, Wi-Fi, and an FP Reader.

While its RAM won’t allow you to have many browser tabs open simultaneously, it’s enough performance to get you through day-to-day tasks.

Aspire XC0830

This desktop PC comes with two USB-A 3.2 ports on the front and two on the back, an HDMI port, and an optical drive. In addition, it comes with Wi-Fi and Windows 10 installed and can come in a package with both a keyboard and mouse.

To increase its power, you can also upgrade your Aspire XC0830 with Intel Celeron.

Microsoft Surface Laptop

The 1st Gen Surface Laptop comes with Windows 10 S, a facial recognition camera, a USB 3.0 port, a 7th Generation Intel Core i5 or i7, and it’s 12.13 x 8.79 inches.

It’s one of the more expensive options in our stores.

Acer Aspire 5

The Acer Aspire 5 (A514-54-501Z) has more power than other inexpensive laptop models in this list but has fewer ports. In addition, its processor is much faster, but it lacks features like USB-C charging and USB-C video out. Regardless, the operating system has excellent performance.

A cool feature of the Acer Aspire is its backlit keyboard and fingerprint reader, which are practically impossible to find in its price range.

Dell Inspiron 14

The Dell Inspiron 14 model has fewer ports than other Windows laptops in its price range, featuring an HDMI port, microSD, combo audio, AC power input, and a USB-C port.

It also ships with Windows 11 Home in S mode, which only lets you install apps from the Windows Store or browse using Microsoft Edge, although this can be easily disabled.

Asus VivoBook 15

The Asus VivoBook 15 has great screen resolution (pixels: 1920 x 1080), a 15.60 HD display, and excellent blank level due to its OLED display. It’s a thin, light laptop with an Intel Core i3-8145U CPU, integrated graphics, 8 GB RAM, and a 128 GB SSD.

It’s powerful enough for streaming video.

Acer Chromebox CX13

This mini PC has plenty of ports, a compact design, and great performance. Although, unfortunately, it’s one of the more expensive models on our list, at least for the mini PC category. It has a more compact chassis than the Lenovo Chrome Book Duet.

This computer doesn’t run Windows. Instead, it runs ChromeOS, which is Google’s browser-based operating system. It has an Intel Core i5 processor, 8 GB of RAM, and a 65 GB eMMC, which are impressive specs for a budget device.
