Though we wish we could provide low-cost technology to everyone, we focus our efforts on internet solutions and computer access for individuals who need it most.
To place an order with us, customers must be currently participating in a government-based assistance program or have a qualifying household income (less than 200% of federal poverty guidelines (see chart below) or 60% of area median income). Before completing your order, PCs for People requires photo identification and income documentation to ensure that customers meet our eligibility criteria.
Please note, we do not require proof of citizenship.
Acceptable documents for income eligibility fall into two categories: qualifying income-based assistance programs OR qualifying income documentation.
Your documentation must include your full name and be dated within the last 12 months and/or show current coverage or proof of benefits at the date of submission.
Handwritten documents cannot be accepted.
Note: If providing income-based eligibility documentation related to a child, we can accept a free or reduced lunch letter or Medicaid. The last name or address must match the photo ID provided for the customer.
For households that qualify with 200% federal poverty level (FPL) or 60% area median income (AMI), please submit one of the documents below as documentation of income. Annual benefits must meet the FPL/AMI guidelines.
The area median income (AMI) guidelines are determined by region and change annually.
Any documentation of eligibility is subject to approval by PCs for People staff. Additional documents may be required to unquestioningly prove income or enrollment in a government assistance program. Handwritten documents cannot be accepted.
