Kansas City

Retail Location & Electronics Recycling Center

Our mission is to create a brighter, more inclusive future for the Kansas City area by empowering businesses, organizations, and individuals to make a meaningful and lasting impact on both the community and the environment. At PCs for People, we are committed to closing the digital divide through a comprehensive approach that includes providing affordable devices, reliable internet access, digital skills training, electronic recycling, and ongoing tech support across the state and beyond.

Since opening our doors in 2020, we have made it our priority to deliver vital technology resources to those who need them most. By distributing thousands of computers to low-income students and families, we are bridging the technology gap and ensuring that everyone has the tools and skills to thrive in an increasingly digital world. Through these efforts, we are not just providing devices, but empowering individuals to unlock opportunities for education, employment, and personal growth.

Meet Our Director

Tom Esselman

Tom made his mark as an innovation leader at Hallmark Cards, where he created and managed the Song Cards product line, and other emotional sending products enhanced by technology.  This experience led Tom to become an advocate for older adults and families without access to technology and computer skills. Becoming part of the PCs For People organization fulfills a vision Tom articulated when he joined Connecting For Good as CEO in 2016:  for digital inclusion to become a financially sustainable model for every community, providing demonstrable long-term improvements in Education, Employment, and Economic Impact, and the Environment.  Tom and his wife Mary live in Kansas City and have 4 kids, and a growing number of grandchildren.
