PCs for People Atlanta Supports Seniors with Desktop Computers

The PCs for People Atlanta team is staying busy as they await their new refurbishing warehouse!

The team is partnering with ULGA Oasis Senior Living to secure nearly 100 senior citizen clients with computers as part of PCs for People’s Indeed Essentials to Work program. So far, twenty desktops have been set up and installed in homes.

While the number of computers distributed so far is relatively small, the impact is already great. The team spoke with Miss Deborah, a native of Atlanta, Georgia, who was one of the first students to attend her high school during segregation. Deborah attended Tuskegee University and earned her degree in computer science. She is currently looking to work remotely and intends to use her new device to apply for jobs.

The team also set up Mr. Kamal with a desktop computer. Mr. Kamal worked in IT in Atlanta for several years and was part of many technological developments for City Hall and the Atlanta police department. Now, he wants to continue to stay savvy with technology and is excited to use the resources his new computer provides.
