PCs for People Expands Digital Access with Grand Opening in Hampton, VA

On April 7, 2026, PCs for People proudly celebrated the grand opening and ribbon cutting of our newest location in Hampton, Virginia — a major milestone in our mission to expand digital equity across the Hampton Roads region and beyond. This exciting expansion marks a significant step forward in bringing affordable technology, low-cost internet access, and essential digital skills training to communities throughout Virginia, including Richmond and Norfolk.

Why This Matters

Access to technology is no longer optional—it’s essential. From applying for jobs and completing schoolwork to accessing healthcare and staying connected, reliable internet and devices are critical. Yet many families still face barriers to access. That’s where PCs for People comes in.

The digital divide is real. And it’s widening.

That’s why the opening of our Hampton, VA location is so important. By bringing PCs for People’s programs directly into the Hampton Roads community, we’re making it easier than ever for individuals and families in underserved areas to:

  • Get connected with affordable computers and low-cost internet
  • Stay connected with ongoing support and resources
  • Move forward with confidence through digital literacy training

Powered by Community Partnerships

This milestone wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of our partners, community leaders, and champions of digital inclusion.

The ribbon cutting event was hosted in partnership with the Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce and brought together voices from across the region who share a deep commitment to closing the digital divide.

We were honored to be joined by distinguished guests including:

  • Steve Brown
  • George Birdsong
  • Jerry Kuthy
  • John W. Martin (speaking on behalf of Kelley McCall)
  • Eric Kauders
  • Darrell Booker
  • Allie Carson

Alongside our PCs for People leadership team:

  • Susan Parriott
  • Dan Hoogheem
  • Jenny Lorton

Their presence and support reflect a shared vision: ensuring that every person — regardless of income or zip code — has equal access to the tools they need to succeed in a digital world.

Supporting Local Businesses, Strengthening Communities

We also extend a heartfelt thank you to Buckroe Coffee Co. for providing catering and helping make the event even more special.

Supporting local businesses is not just a nice gesture — it’s a core part of how we invest back into the communities we serve. When we partner with local vendors, we strengthen the economic fabric of the neighborhoods we call home.

Because of community partnerships like these, we are able to continue expanding access to affordable technology, reliable internet, and digital literacy programs across Hampton Roads and the greater Virginia region.

Celebrating the Team Behind the Mission

Behind every milestone is a dedicated team making it happen — and our Hampton grand opening was no exception.

A huge shoutout and sincere thank you to our incredible PCs for People staff who traveled to Virginia to be part of this celebration:
