Interim Board Chair
Brendt Rusten has been actively involved in multifamily acquisition, development and management of Affordable Housing for more than 35 years. He is retired from most day-to-day activities at Dominium, which has an owned portfolio of over 40,000 apartment homes with a value exceeding 8 billion dollars.. He continues as a Partner and serves on Dominium’s Executive Committee and Design Review Committees. Originally raised in Minnesota, Brendt and his wife Patty reside on Useppa Island in Florida. Together Patty and Brendt have four children and four grandchildren. Brendts dedication to Affordable Housing and the customers he served in those roles throughout his career align with PCs for People mission of serving a similar population that has been historically underserved.

Martín Moreno has been in Microsoft Strategic Sourcing for past twelve years. He is currently the General Manager Strategic Sourcing Engineering leading a team that sources all chipsets, custom silicon, system memory, SSD, HDD, electrical and wireless components within the Devices organization at Microsoft. Prior to this role Martín lead the Strategic Sourcing Operations team, was the PM for integration of Nokia and did Chipset Sourcing. Prior to joining Microsoft Martín worked at IBM in various semiconductor sales and marketing roles. Prior to joining IBM Martín worked at Xerox corporation in engineering, factory management, quality and supply chain roles. Martín is married with 3 adult children and a family dog. He enjoys playing golf, concerts, hiking, reading and watching movies with his family.

Jon Lien serves as the Vice President Credit Administration at Bridgewater Bank – a publicly-traded financial institution with more than $4.6 billion in total assets. As a Credit Officer, Jon has individual approval authority of loans up to $2 million and is a member of the bank’s Loan Committee and Credit Risk Management Committee. His input into loan structure and credit underwriting has helped maintain the strong credit quality in the loan portfolio throughout the bank’s growth. Jon is responsible for the supervising six teams of credit analysts and their respective managers. Since starting with the bank in 2018, he’s helped grow the department from 10 analysts supporting a loan portfolio of $1.5 billion to more than 20 analysts supporting $3.5 billion in loans, all while maintaining BWB’s successful credit culture.

Kathy Rasmussen is the Vice President of Human Resources at Timberland Partners, a real estate investment, management, and development firm based in Minneapolis, MN, with over 20,000 apartment homes and 500 employees nationwide. Kathy’s key areas of responsibility include: staffing, compensation, benefits, talent management, training, employee relations, and risk management. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management from Metropolitan State University and holds a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) designation. Kathy feels that being a PCs for People Board Member provides an expansion of her fulfilling work. Born and raised in Minnesota, Kathy now resides with her family in Chanhassen, where she spends time actively involved in the community, cheering on MN sports teams and attending bucket list concerts.

Jim is an experienced technology innovator and entrepreneur with a strong record of launching and leading companies in data services, software, telecommunications, and internet infrastructure. His career spans high-tech startups and major corporate turnarounds, including strategy roles at Examen, Cphone, Voicecom Systems, Marathon Systems, and STAR telecom initiatives. He also led successful turnarounds for Cphone Corporation and AMP’s internet portfolio, taking on full P&L responsibility. Today, Jim manages a real estate and investment portfolio and has served on multiple boards. Raised on a family farm in California, he is a Harvard graduate and lives near Middleburg, VA with his wife, Patricia.

Erica Mesker is the Chief Development and Operating Officer at Connect Humanity, where she leads fundraising, partnerships, and operational strategy to advance equitable broadband access. With over a decade of experience securing hundreds of millions of dollars for mission-driven initiatives, she specializes in building sustainable funding models, designing high-impact programs, and translating complex strategies into compelling narratives. Erica has scaled organizations from the ground up, led globally dispersed teams, and built the infrastructure needed for financial and operational excellence. Her previous leadership roles include Director of Development at the World Wide Web Foundation and Director of Global Strategic Development at TechSoup. She began her career as a Clinton-Orfalea Fellow at the Clinton Foundation in New York City. Erica holds an M.A. in Global and International Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a B.A. in Psychology from San Diego State University. Usually based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Erica is an avid hiker, traveler, and sailor who believes in the power of connection—both online and off.
Founder and Board Chair Emeritus
Andrew Elofson is the Founder and Board Chair Emeritus of PCs for People, an organization dedicated to providing computers to those in need. With over 35 years of experience as a Licensed Social Worker, Andrew has developed expertise in Youth Development, Child and Adult Mental Health services, Homelessness services, and community-based care.
Throughout his career, Andrew has combined his passion for social work with his commitment to technology access. In 1998, he donated the first computer to a young student, which sparked a movement. Three months later, 30 more computers were donated, and Andrew recognized the need for support to grow the program. He secured a county-owned house, built relationships with the community, and engaged a group of high school students to help expand the initiative and named the program PCs for People.
Andrew resides in St. Peter, MN, with his wife, Jessica, and their six children.
