The FCC has confirmed that the ACP has funding left for March, and April 2024, running out of current funding after April 2024. PCs for People continues to advocate for more funding for the program and a potential funding bill has been introduced in Congress. We encourage all of our customers and partners to contact their Representatives and Senators to ask for their support for the ACP. In the meantime, we have to begin the process for the wind-down of the program.

Next steps:

  • If you are currently enrolled with us for the ACP, you do not need to take an action at this time.
  • PCs for People is notifying our ACP-enrolled customers to give notice of the coming wind-down of the ACP. Additional notifications will follow as the FCC shares more information.
  • The ACP will not be accepting any new enrollments after 2/7/24.
  • ACP funding is projected to run out after April 2024.

To be clear, you can continue to use your ACP benefit until the funding ends. After that time, PCs for People is committed to offering affordable internet service to our low-income customers. When the ACP winds down, PCs for People customers can elect to let their prepaid internet service lapse or they can resume purchasing prepaid internet at our standard pricing of $15 or $16 per month.

What is the Affordable Connectivity Program?

The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) benefit program that helps ensure that households can afford the technology they need for work, school, healthcare, and more.

PCs for People has been approved as a provider for both internet services and computer benefits through the ACP. Customers that meet our eligibility requirements will qualify to have their monthly internet bill covered and a discount on a home computer.

"The ACP program has been great for my family and me! Having the internet for my children to use at home for schooling at a low cost has been very beneficial, especially during the pandemic. I would recommend anyone to go to PCs for People and sign up!"
