What does this transition mean for our current customers? Read more here.

Starting Dec. 31, 2021, the Emergency Broadband Benefit program by the FCC has transitioned to the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). This change comes after the passage of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act on Nov. 15, 2021. While EBB was meant to be a temporary program to provide affordable broadband, the new ACP has a $14.2 billion budget and will be a longer-term benefit for eligible families. Read more about the Affordable Connectivity Program here.

(transitioned to Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) on Dec. 30, 2021)

Who is eligible?

Anyone who meets PCs for People eligibility requirements can apply to receive the benefits.

What are the benefits?

PCs for People is happy to offer discounts on both internet service and computers!

  • A monthly* discount of up to $50** off your internet service and associated equipment (hotspots or modems depending on your location)
    • For new subscribers, the benefit will be applied to the cost of your initial equipment purchase, and then it will cover monthly renewals for internet service after the first month.
    • For current subscribers, the benefit will cover monthly renewals for internet service for the duration of the program.
  • A one-time discount of up to $100 off select computers (as device supply allows) when purchasing internet from PCs for People.

*Please note that due to various program restrictions, subscribers will have to visit our website every month to use the EBB discount again to cover their internet bill. If choosing to pay for multiple months at once, subscribers will have to wait until their subscription ends to sign up.

**The EBB Program will provide a discount of up to $50 per month (up to $75 per month for households on Tribal lands) toward broadband internet service for eligible households.

Important information

  • The Emergency Broadband Benefit is non-transferable and is limited to one program-wide discount per household.
  • The Emergency Broadband Benefit Program is a temporary emergency federal government benefit program operated by the Federal Communications Commission and when the emergency fund is gone, customers will have the option to choose whether they want to continue their subscription at PCs for People’s usual rates.
  • The Emergency Broadband Benefit Program will end when the government fund runs out of money, or six months after the Department of Health and Human Services declares an end to the COVID-19 health emergency, whichever is sooner.
